The e-HDi system will appear on PSA diesels ranging from 1.4- up to 2.0-litres. In a 1.6-litre Citroen C3, it’s smoothness and speed of operation was very impressive indeed. Here’s how it

Of course this seemed initially like it could be a somewhat tragic and expensive occurrence but.. upon removing the various air pipes it seems the oil is coming from the crankcase The interior easily develops squeaks and rattles, the doors close with a empty 'clang' rather than a reassuring 'thud' and it's noisy on the motorway. But the one saving grace is the impressive 1.6 HDI diesel engine which will average 55.4mpg. Road Test Citroen Xsara Picasso 2003 2.0i automaticThe 1.6vti has certainly exceeded my expectations given all the bad press reviews. My previous car was a 2.0 litre peugeot 307cc and the 1.6vti is much quicker than that, that fact that the 2008 if nearly 600kgs lighter than the 307cc is probably a major factoralso.
Same issue on on my 207 1.6 HDI - Solved like this - found the temp sensor on the radiator which controls the cooling fan.
